Ocean Park, Hong Kong - Part 1

This post is gonna be about my Hong Kong trip, 2 months back. The title says it all, i can't wait to share how much fun i had in Ocean Park, Hong Kong.

I've alwaz wanted to visit the Ocean Park, Hong Kong, especially when i saw those kids in the TVB dramas (if u hav no idea what TVB is about, it's a commercial television station in Hong Kong which produces lots of nice dramas & varieties shows) getting so excited when they got the chance to visit the park.

Finally, my wish came true on a hot sunny day. Lol.

The band welcoming all the visitors.

First stop at The Grand Aquarium. Although im not one who has deep interest about sea creatures, all these vibrant corals and bizarre ocean's creatures totally caught my eyes.

Taking the photo of the aboral side (upper surface) of the sea star is too main stream. Here u go, their oral side (lower surface).

The journey continues through the Bubble Tunnel, where we get to view the aquarium through the "bubbles" above us.

Last but not least the Grand Aquarium, with a 13 metre wide viewing panel and 5000 fish from over 400 species, conclude our journey at the aquarium with a spectacular view.

Next was the Hong Kong Jockey Club Sichuan Treasures where we met An An (male) and Jia Jia (female), the pair of Giant Pandas. They are so so so adorable. We're only able to meet An An that day as Jia Jia was hiding somewhere behind.

Like his lazy, chubby and greedy look so much. Lol.

Not forgetting their neighbours, another endangered precious species. You may know Sun Wukong the Monkey King from the legendary Chinese literature Journey to the West,  now meet his golden monkey cousins! Two female young monkeys, Le Le and Hu Hu. With their cute blue faces, orange fur and intelligent look, how can u resist them?

And also, spotted this - The Panda Bettle. So cute!!!

I'll stop here for this time. Will continue with the 2nd part next time! xxx

Miam Miam

Hi guys, finally my first blog entry is up! Gonna start by introducing some nice food around Penang coz im a Penangite and im proud to be one.

Miam Miam, a new French-Japanese Cafe Restaurant located at St. Jo's, Gurney Paragon Mall, right next to Ben's. Just fyi, Miam Miam means Yum Yum in French. So we went there for OHM's birthday celebration on a Friday night. We arrived there early to make sure that we have place to be seated coz there were 11 of us and they don't allow us to make any reservation, should be due to crowds, i supposed.

The birthday girl~

Iced Matcha Latte w/ Softee - RM12.80, spot the matcha softee ice cream?

Country Style Minestrone - RM11.00, comes together with sugar toast, which is so appertising.

"Miam Miam" spaghetti - RM24.80 w/ onsen egg, bacon, eggplant, shimeiji and sausage. It is something like stir fried spaghetti, more like a fushion dish and i like it! Highly recommended!

Pasta Pescatore - RM28.80. This is like a seafood platter as it comes with squid, mussels, shrimps, clams & scallop.

Country Style Clam Chowder Pasta - RM27.80. The clam chowder sauce is sooooo good! The portion of all the pastas were quite big, so we were sharing around.

Pot-baked Soufflé Doria (w/ or w/o beef) - RM26.80. This was my main dish actually. I ordered the one without beef as most of us don't take beef. So instead of beef, there's a few sliced of ham and some mushroom in it. The presentation of this dish was one of the main reason i chose it. The rice was covered with soufflé and the taste of it somehow surprise me. The soufflé was a lil bit salty instead of sweet and the rice tasted a bit sweet something like tomato fried rice (the best i can describe..lol). The taste was just mediocre, no aroma in the rice.

Here comes the desserts!

Famous French Toast - RM16.80, w/ homemade whipped cream & maple syrup. We kinda dissapointed as we have heard some good reviews from other friend but it was just so so for us.

Fondant Au Chocolate w/ Softee - RM12.80. Very rich chocolate flavour and not too dry. I have a thing with chocolate and this is really niceee! But too bad, the portion was a bit small.

Vanilla Soufflé - RM16.80. I don't have a chance to taste it coz the portion wasn't that big and they alr finished it before passing over to my side. But according to them it was quite good! Gotta try it if i happen to go again.

Creme brûlée - RM12.80

Overall the service was quite good. The waitress were quite attentive and they do alwaz take note on whether we need them to help us refill our water. Fyi, Miam Miam do provide their customers with one whole jar of water (cold/warm) with slices of lemon in it and it is refillable. The desserts were good generally but a lil pricey for me.

End this post with a photo of the birthday girl happily unwrapping her present.

Kinda long post i know. Btw, I will be up in the next post. ;)
